Our Story
Aloha Animal Lovers!
Caring for animals is truly my greatest joy and I’m excited about the possibility of sharing Animal Communication and/or Healing Touch for Animals ®with you for your beloved companion. My business name was given to me by a dear and respected friend in the Hawaiian community and it is Houpo Aloha. Houpo in Hawaiian means “the heart center” and Aloha means love. From the heart is where all animal communication begins and ends. My Animal Communication business is the culmination of years of personal and volunteer experiences with animal care as well as studying animal communication and healing. For me, nothing else comes close to bringing the deep connectedness, peace and satisfaction of this sacred work.
I have had animals most of my life including wonderful horses, spectacular dogs and amazing cats. For the past 23 years I have been a volunteer at the Hawaiian Humane Society as an adoptions counselor, animal caretaker, foster parent and working in post-surgery recovery. I have been providing Animal Communication services for over two years and Healing Touch for Animals® for over one year.
Academically, I have a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After decades of work in social services and health care administration in Hawaii, I decided to create my dream job. I chose the Gurney Institute for my Animal Communication study because it was the most comprehensive, thorough and rigorous program available involving over 300 hours of in person classroom instruction as well as review and critique of over 50 cases. I am proud to be a Certified Animal Communicator and a Consulting Associate with the Gurney Institute. I am particularly skilled in death and dying cases – and have brought many people deep peace from communicating with their beloved 4 legged companions, both prior to transition and after. I also work well with behavioral, emotional and physical problems.
